A Safe, Socially-Distanced Holiday Experience for the Family
DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is proud to be partnering with the Nevada Ballet Theatre to bring you a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t find anywhere else this holiday season. Come get a behind-the-scenes look at The Nutcracker Extravaganza, with set and costume pieces from the actual ballet, on display in our Traveling Exhibit Hall!
With so many holiday events and traditions on pause this year, we are so excited to offer one of the few experiences in town that you and your family can enjoy safely. This no-touch exhibit takes you up close and personal to the Nevada Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. Get an exclusive view of original Nutcracker show elements that are typically only seen from the stage.
From the famous “flying rocking horse” to the Cannon in the Battle Scene, these original set and prop pieces are complemented by a display of over 20 costumes, including handmade headpieces, tiaras, and wigs, worn each year by NBT’s professional company.
The Nutcracker Extravaganza: Behind the Scenes will be on display from December 19 -January 3 on the second floor of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum, during regular museum hours. In addition, we will be hosting various Nutcracker-themed activities throughout the Museum to really get you into the holiday spirit!
