Help Us Reach Our Goal!
DISCOVERY is so excited to welcome everyone back to your Museum. We are grateful to all of our visitors and members who participated in our reopening survey that helped us understand what would make you feel safe and comfortable visiting the Museum once it reopened. For a look at the comprehensive cleaning, safety, and reopening plan that we developed based on the survey results, please visit discoverykidslv.org/health-and-safety.
One of the major decisions we made in order to ensure that the Museum could reopen with the appropriate protective measures in place for those that visit was to dramatically reduce our occupancy. Under our reopening framework, we will be only allowing 175 visitors into our 26,000 square-feet of galleries in our 60,000 square-foot facilities at a time to ensure physical distancing and proper cleaning of our exhibit components.
Ticket sales comprise 60% of the revenue needed to fund the diverse educational programming we deliver to the community. That’s why, during this time of rebuilding, we will be relying on the support of our community more than ever, and specifically, supporters like you.
To help us sustain our leadership in the community as we carefully reopen our doors, we have created The CommUNITY Challenge Fund which has been seeded by a challenge grant from a generous anonymous donor with a gift of $200,000. Our goal is to match those funds with an additional $200,000 before September 30. We hope you will consider helping us meet the challenge and fill the gap in our earned revenue streams by making a gift of $50, $250, $1,000, or more to ensure that we can keep supporting our community’s children—especially those most in need.
We recognize that the COVID-19 crisis has affected everyone differently, but please know that your support in any amount will not only be matched but will make a tremendous impact on the lives of children in our community.
