Festivities include a Grito ceremony in our DISCOVERY Hall, a free Papel Picado workshop, and a piñata-making workshop in the DISCOVERY Lab. What better way to kick off Hispanic American Heritage Month?

Make Your Own Piñata Workshop: with Artist Emmanuel Muñoz

- Description: Join local artist Emmanuel Muñoz and learn about the history of Piñatas as your create and decorate your own donkey Piñata!
- Artist Bio: Emmanuel Muñoz is a student of architecture and art history born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Most of his time is spent trying to understand the ways art touches the individual and collective experience of the people around him. He makes art using the most proximate materials and tools available, often a simple pencil and sketchbook, to capture everyday life. He is currently living in North Las Vegas, Nevada, working from his bedroom late into the night. He is an educational outreach assistant and co-captain at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV.
