Intergenerational Interludes

Friday, November 13, 2020 1:30 pm - 2:15 pm

Cleveland Clinic and DISCOVERY Children's Museum are once again teaming up to offer our Intergenerational Interludes music program! Participants ages birth through five years old and their caretakers are invited to enjoy music, dance, movement, and play during this virtual, interactive six-week session. 

A Cleveland Clinic music therapist and accompanying memory care patients will lead the workshop sessions through ZOOM. 

Registration is free and limited to 10 families and registered participants are asked to attend all six sessions.

Registrants may pick up a bag of instruments to borrow during the virtual program. The pick-up date is November 12th between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at DCM. Registrants (2 kids + 2 adults max) may stay and play at the Museum for free when they pick up their instruments.

Registrants will return their instruments on December 12 between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at DCM. Registrants (2 kids + 2 adults max) may stay and play at the Museum for free when they drop off their instruments.

  • Description: Make elephant ears to wear while listening to a Dr. Seuss favorite, and then explore scent molecules.

A Closer Look at Art: Texture & Line

  • Gallery: Young at Art – Level 3
  • Description: Explore the elements of texture and line and learn how to use them in three-dimensional and two-dimensional works of art.

Fun with Polymers - At the Science Bench

  • Time: 11:30am

  • Gallery: Patents Pending – Level 3
  • Description: Discover the importance of polymers and learn why they are an integral part of our everyday lives.

Mummies of the World

  • Time: 12:30pm
  • Location: Presentation Space
  • Gallery: Solve It – Level 3
  • Description: Discover the science behind mummification and learn about the cultural methods behind this ancient practice.  

Theatre Games

  • Description: Meet us on the stage, and learn the basics of putting on a performance as you work together and engage your imagination.

Snap Circuits

  • Description: Learn how to use electrical circuits to power lights and motors, and then practice your own hand at electrical engineering as a team!

What Makes a Community?

  • Description: Flames, color changes, awesome actions and neat reactions! Explore chemistry through dazzling demonstrations!

  • Description: Meet some of the interesting animals that live in the Mojave Desert as Cody the coyote searches for his family.

3D Printshop

  • Description: Spark that creative engineer in every child's mind, and DISCOVER the world of 3D printing! Learn about free design software and other online resources, see a 3D printer in action, and select a sample model of your choice to print and take home! $6.00 General Admission or $3.00 Members.
