DISCOVERY Children’s Museum Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees

LAS VEGAS (May 21, 2018)– DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is pleased to welcome five additions to its Board of Trustees. New members include Kevin Holyfield, vice president of hotel operations for Park MGM, Rebecca Miltenberger, shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Boyd Nelson, vice president of strategy & corporate development of Southwest Gas Holdings, Inc. and Southwest Gas Corporation, Lynda Tache, Political Director in Nevada for Marsy’s Law, and Ashlee Washington, vice president and community relations manager for Bank of America. 

Kevin Holyfield is responsible for implementing strategies at Park MGM to drive hotel revenue, developing new products and services, participating in marketing strategies to increase volume and market share and cultivating a culture of commitment to service excellence. Holyfield joined MGM Resorts International in 2008 and has 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Holyfield holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, is an MGM Resorts Diversity Champion and a certified Prosci Change Management professional. 

Rebecca Miltenberger works on land use and property development in the real estate department at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. Her real estate practice focuses on complex commercial transactions in office, retail, multi-family, hospitality, gaming and leisure industries and her transactional work includes acquisitions, dispositions, financings, developments, land use and entitlements, leases of real property assets, foreclosures and deeds in lieu of foreclosure. Miltenberger obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and her undergraduate degree from University of Washington. Miltenberger plays a key role in some of Nevada’s most significant real estate transactions based on her knowledge of Nevada’s unique regulations and has become an invaluable resource for developers returning to stalled projects. She is passionate about the growth of the Las Vegas community and she and her husband have chosen to raise their two young sons in southern Nevada. 

Boyd Nelson is focused on assisting the senior leadership team of Southwest Gas with developing, communicating, executing and sustaining strategic initiatives in addition to overseeing the organization’s supply chain function. Prior to joining Southwest Gas in April 2017, Nelson held the role of managing director and co-head of U.S. power and utilities investment banking at Scotiabank and held similar positions at New Harbor Incorporated and Société Générale. Boyd holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Yale University. In addition to serving DISCOVERY, Nelson is a Board of Trustees member for the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. 

Lynda Tache has called Las Vegas home from 25 years and is currently serving as Political Director in Nevada for Marsy’s Law, an equal rights bill for victims of crime and abuse. Tache most notably founded Grant a Gift Autism Foundation in 2009 and served as President and CEO until November 2017. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation in addition to her position with DISCOVERY. Tache’s experience of having a child with autism has led her to make an impact by testifying and working with the Nevada State Legislature every session since 2007 to help pass laws and update policy related to children’s health and wellness. 

Ashlee Washington joined Bank of America in 2013 and has served in various roles across the enterprise, specializing in sales management and coaching. Prior to Bank of America, Washington worked for JP Morgan Chase in consumer banking leadership roles for eight years. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Theological Studies and Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Washington’s life purpose is to better the lives of others through mentorship, volunteerism and activism. She is passionate about financial literacy, early childhood development, college football, weight lifting and her two fur babies. 

The new members of DISCOVERY Children Museum’s Board of Trustees will join a group of highly respected community members. Officers on board include Chairperson Stacie Truesdell Michaels (Wynn Las Vegas), Vice Chairperson Pat Skorkowsky (Clark County School District), Secretary Andrea Smith (NV Energy) and Treasurer Boyd Nelson (Southwest Gas). Members-at-large include Brad Anthony (Treasure Island Resort & Casino), Carrie Carter-Cooper (BESTAgency), Judy Cebulko (philanthropist), Kami Dempsey (Accretive Consulting), Todd Kefkowitz (P3 Health Partners), Ron Reese (Las Vegas Sands), Joyce Schneider (philanthropist), and.
