EDUCATORS, WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU.

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum has been supporting educators for more than 24 years with pioneering and award-winning programming crafted specifically for teachers and students. Below are just few ways we can help inspire your students.

DISCOVERY ON WHEELS / HOUSE CALLS

DISCOVERY On Wheels brings the museum directly to your classroom. Reinforcing and supplementing classroom instruction is the mission of DISCOVERY On Wheels.

Following specific lessons emphasizing national, state, and local curriculum goals, our hands-on and interactive Health Sciences experiences help you take education and learning to a new level. Expose your students to high quality, anatomically accurate models and “real” medical equipment. Take advantage of quality programming without the worries of transportation and buses. This program is designed for Kindergarten – 5th grade elementary public and private school students in Clark County.

We invite you to join museum educators for camp programming and creative education that focuses on the Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), where campers will investigate, invent, interpret, and discover through interactive sessions and hands-on learning.

Sessions will be offered from 9am – 2pm, Monday – Friday. Weekly camp sessions are offered for youth ages 6 to 9 years.

FIELD TRIPS

There’s no substitute for a field trip to DISCOVERY Children’s Museum. Museum staff and volunteers will lead your class experience, focusing your students’ attention on concepts that are appropriate for their grade level. The exhibits are aligned with the Nevada State Content Standards, allowing you to explore curricular concepts in new and interactive ways while still meeting the curriculum goals of your classroom. Educators are encouraged to preview the exhibit descriptions and curriculum correlations in advance to make the most of their class’ experience at the museum. Students will make meaningful connections as informal and formal educational experiences are integrated, yielding lasting discoveries that extend beyond the school and museum walls.
