DAILY DISCOVERY EXPERIENCES: NOVEMBER 11 – 12

CELEBRATING NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH  

Please note that the Sunday schedule is the same, but we do not open until 12:00pm, so the programs will not start until then.

Description: Recreate a page from the children’s story “Navajo ABC,” by author Lucy Tapahanso, in honor of the Navajo Tribe.

Description: Join us as we learn about the Native American Tribes that inhabited the Southwest and braved the harsh living conditions! Design a masterpiece inspired by what you learn!

Gallery: It’s Your Choice – Level 2

Description: Thirty-two Indian Reservations and Colonies stretch across Nevada. Learn about some similarities and differences of various Native American Tribes.

Horton Hears a Who – Special for Little Learners (5 years old and younger)! Description: Little Learners make “elephant ears” to wear while they actively listen to a Dr. Seuss favorite! After story time, follow your nose while you explore scent molecules that are too small to see.

A Closer Look at Art – Colors and Shapes Description: Expand on two elements of Art – colors and shapes – and explore them in a fun and engaging way!

Fun With Polymers Description: Things are not always what they seem. Through clever demonstrations, discover the importance of polymers and develop an appreciation of why plastics are an integral part of our everyday lives.

Description: Find out the answer to this question and have tons of fun at the same time. Join us in Eco City as we explore the meaning of community.

Description: Join us for Kamishibai storytelling, a traditional art form that originated in Japan.

Digging Through the Past Description: Do you like to dig in the dirt? Find things that are lost? Put pieces together? Figure out stories from clues? These are all things archeologists do—maybe you’re one, too! Join us as we explore what an Archeologist does; get your hand dirty as you put the clues of the past together.

Unique YOU! Description: Join us on an investigation of what makes you unique. Explore how and why scientist use fingerprints, take a closer look at your own and see how it is unique.

Gallery: Fantasy Festival – Level 1

Puppet Show: Scientific Method Description: Join us and experience the art of puppetry. Watch as Elias and Jessica are challenged with a special science project from their teacher Mrs. Frazzle-Sticks. They have no fear because they have a secret weapon at home… their crazy Aunt Millimeter who takes them on an enlightening journey of exploration through the scientific method – and it all happens in the kitchen!
