LAS VEGAS DISCOVERY Children’s Museum held their annual The Magic of DISCOVERY Gala at the Caesars Palace on Saturday, Sept. 29.  Guests dressed to impress in their best Rock Star Red Carpet attire, for a night centered around the children of our community. The event raised over $300,000 to help fund educational programs in the Las Vegas Valley as well as strengthen DISCOVERY’S programming.

Guests of the gala enjoyed cocktails provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits while perusing the silent auction. The program was emceed by KVVU FOX 5 Las Vegas’ Christine Maddela alongside Celebrity Entertainment Auctioneer, Chet Buchanan. The evening was full of dancing, a live musical performance by the Bella Electric Strings, specialized air brush tattoos, YouthWorks interactive presentations, and the opportunity to bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

During the evening, a surprise donation was announced when Judy Cebulko, a DISCOVERY Children’s Museum board member, donated $10,000 to DISCOVERY Children’s Museum in honor of Jeri and Rick Crawford, as well as an apology for missing the gala and their award. Additionally, 50 #VegasStronger hats were sold at $100 each, to commemorate an almost one-year anniversary.

“The Magic of DISCOVERY Gala is a remarkable event that allows the city to come together and raise critical funding to support the museum’s exhibits and programs. The $300,000 raised this year will go a long way as we continue to offer new and interactive educational programs for the community,” said Melissa Kaiser, Chief Executive Officer of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum. “In addition to raising funds for our educational programs, we have the opportunity to recognize remarkable members of the community – such as Jeri and Rick Crawford – for their impact on the community and commitment to developing youth programs throughout the valley, which is what the museum stands for.”
