February 11th is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Did you know the “S” in STEAM, the curriculum taught through interactive play here at DISCOVERY, stands for science? That makes every day a day of science here! At present, though, less than 30 percent of all female students select STEM-related fields in higher education. In order to honor this special day's mission of achieving full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, let’s take a look at a few women currently changing the world through science!
Our mission at DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is to foster a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive environment where all are invited to engage in playful and educational experiences that ignite a lifelong love of learning.
In our constantly evolving and ongoing efforts to make sure every child and family feel represented, included, and at home in our Museum, we are excited to share with you our newly formed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.
To enter DISCOVERY, all individuals aged 2 and older are required to wear a cloth face covering. Please take a few moments to read through some other new guidelines we've put in place to ensure the health and safety of all visitors, staff, and volunteers.
