Volunteers are a critical part of the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum’s ability to provide the community with a quality experience at the museum. DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is always looking for energetic and enthusiastic people who are searching for a unique and fun work environment. Whether you are a high school student looking to complete community service hours for school credit and gain work experience or an adult looking for a valuable way to spend some free time, we welcome you!
We have opportunities available for both high school students (ages 14-17) and adults. The following is a brief description of each program:
Once you have completed Orientation you will have access to our online portal. You will be able to create a customized volunteer schedule, sign-up for schedule openings, update your profile information, and receive important messages. Click here to enter the Volunteer Portal.
Teen Volunteers are individuals ages 14-17 who are currently enrolled in high school that are interested in gaining community service hours or work experience by supporting the museum. Click here for more information on the Teen Volunteer Program.
The YouthWorks Internship is a program designed for at-risk, high school students, ages 14-17 years old. This program affords teens with a chance to gain educational enrichment, learn new skills and start an employment portfolio, while developing personal and professional growth experiences. Adult Volunteers are individuals 18 years and older who are interested in supporting the museum by giving their time. There are a variety of roles available. Click here for more information on the Adult Volunteer Program.

Our volunteers are priceless!! They add value to our guests experience, bring new ideas, and connect DCM to the larger Southern Nevada community. The success and sustainability of your volunteer program will depend on your ability to retain and celebrate volunteers and maintain momentum for your project. At DCM we pride ourselves on recognizing the hard work and commitment that volunteers make to our facilities each week. As volunteers accumulate hours they become eligible to receive a number of different DCM awards.
